supporting local writers

April  - David Lassman

The Writer's Slot will showcase a different local writer each month. This month features David Lassman - a founder member  of the Frome Writers' Collective and our publicity co-ordinator.

David's career began as a columnist and arts journalist for local and regional periodicals, including the Bath Chronicle, Bournemouth Daily Echo and Big Issue South West.

Since gaining a degree in Scriptwriting for Film and Television from Bournemouth University, he has been immersed in a wide variety of writing and scriptwriting, both fiction and non-fiction. His most recent novel, co-written with Terence James, is The Regency Detective. This is the first in a series of books featuring Jack Swann and set in Jane Austen's Bath.

David currently works as a writer, script consultant and lecturer, running writing and creative development workshops and courses. He also runs the Bath Writers' Workshop. You can listen to his new monthly literary programme, Write On, on FromeFM or visit his website: http://www.davidlassman.com

David's comment on the FWC: ‘Frome Writers' Collective is a fantastic initiative - it allows writers to pool their resources and to have their individual voices heard.’
